Carol and I have been fortunate to spend most of our lives living in Central Florida, giving us the opportunity to see our community’s growth firsthand. This is the community we chose to raise our family, and we could not be happier that this is the place in which our children are choosing to raise their families.

When we were presented with the vision for Bonnet Springs Park, we recognized the opportunity to create a space that would be truly transformational, not just for our Lakeland community, but for our entire region. Carol’s final philanthropic gift was the founding of Bonnet Springs Park. She saw more than a beautification project: she imagined a space that would engage future generations to connect and reconnect the myriad of cultures that make up our region; she recognized the opportunities Bonnet Springs Park would offer children and adults to engage with Florida’s history so deeply linked to this land bordering George Jenkins Boulevard; and she expressed her aspirations that the Park be an environment in which children, families, students, and visitors would explore nature in a refreshing, tranquil setting.

David Bunch and Bill Tinsley envisioned this park, working tirelessly to gather our support and the support of countless members throughout the community. Together, we have created a place where all are welcome and encouraged to escape, engage, and explore in Central Florida.
